Resolved Question: car exsported to mexico , can i import back the car to the U.S..? I bought a car in mexico (Hyundai Sonata 1999), tha car was American with California license plates, I register it with my name, but the time came to pay the next year sticker, and I couldn’t afford a car insurance of 500 per year , ( im a student, so I don’t have time to work) and I took the cowards way and exported the car to mexico, the car right now has Mexican license plates that are called fronterisas that means the car can only circulate in the us and near the border in mexico but it cannot go to south mexico, and it register in mexico ( Mexicali baja California border with Calexico California), that was 1 year ago, my question is if a can import the car back to the U.S. to California, so it can have California license plates again.
